fiction in physical science

At the end of one of my ninth grade physical science tests, Ms. Langford wrote: How about a picture here?
So I wrote and illustrated this story:

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who had a dog. And, no, his name wasn't Bingo. He was an Yellow Egg Sitter (a yellow dog who sits on yellow eggs). Well, one day he died. The owner went down to the Dog Emporium to get a new one. But the store clerk said they were out of yellow egg sitters. The owner bought a blue dog instead and sat it on the eggs.
The dog was not happy. The eggs were not his color. He howled all day and all night, at least until the Farmer got fed up and painted the eggs blue. Then the dog was happy, but the farmer wasn't because when the chickens hatched, they were green.
No one wanted to buy green chickens, so the Farmer had to keep them.
Moral: Don't color your chickens before they're hatched.

A fresher version of this story was later published in a high school short story collection. But I can't find that copy.
