Her measurements are 28.25 inches, 19lb 11.5oz and 17.75 head, which works out to 75%, 72%, and 75%.
No shots, only a finger prick for a hemoglobin test. She scored just over a 10, and apparantly anything under 11 means low iron. So we bought Ferinsol from Walgreens (a tiny dropper bottle with a cute picture of Beatrice Potter's Peter Rabbit on it). We are supposed to give her a drop three times a day for six weeks.
Guess how her first drop went? She pulled a face, then cried, then gagged dramatically. If I'm not able to successfully hide it in her food, then the next six weeks will be tons of fun.
I doubt the illustration of Peter Rabbit makes it more palatable to Emberly, but I enjoyed looking at it.

Diastasis recti
That is my diagnosis. Also known as rectus diastasis. It is sort of creepy that I can tense up my stomach muscles and stick my fingers in the middle, but I guess few people could escape carrying an 11 pound baby with a fluid index of 31 all the way to 41 weeks completely unscathed. This condition is more likely with multiples and multiple births. Emberly is the third birth, so that's one strike. And while she wasn't a twin, she weighed more than the twins born in our ward put together, not to mention my four pound placenta and all that extra fluid. I think she definitely qualifies.
So instead of a six pack, I have two three packs. It sort of feels like a zipper down the center of my body, undone from my rib cage to my belly button, in a sort of Y formation. If it was only cosmetic, I could consider it a badge of honor like stretch marks. I stick out like I'm three months pregnant. Since Michael still thinks I'm sexy (and his opinion counts for a lot :), so I'm not too worried about the appearance.
But the truth is it is killing my back. At least it is mostly when I sleep. Apparantly, your spine relies heavily on your abdomnal muscles to hold it in place. They call it a disruption of the muscular core. I also have a good "baseline." I'm not really sure what that means, but it sounded like a good thing.
I went to a physical medicine doctor today. I believe she's called a physiatrist. She said it would hopefully heal without surgery over time if I got the right exercise, which of course involves physical therapy visits for a while. Haven't quite figured out what to do with the little ones during that. Maybe they'll have night slots or something. Physical therapy was actually like a mini vacation when I worked, because I got to take off in the middle of the day with no worries. Sick time doesn't work the same when you're a mom.

Christmas and new years
We had a great holiday break.
Christmas we went to Michael's parents. My nephew was sick, so the girls were the only kids there, but Auntie M was back from BYU Idaho, and that made Christmas so much fun. Santa brought a glo-e bear to Hailey and a My Little Pony teapot house to Ansley. They both got Scooby doo figurines as well as a few other gifts from mom and dad. After all the gifts were opened and Christmas breakfast was finished, Auntie M and Hailey and Ansley painted toe nails and the grown ups got to relax.
New Years Eve, we turned the clocks back a few hours so we could celebrate midnight at 9pm with the girls. We had gone to party City earlier that day and bought fun hats and noise makers. We also got donuts as part of a new tradition Michael started last year (no black eyed peas for us). We counted down, had a parade of noise makers through the house, and attacked each other with silly string. The girls just loved it.
