Favorite foods

Hailey loves toast. She loves both the bread and the butter part. If we're not looking, she will snatch a whole bag of bread off the counter (much like a Labrador) and carry it around the house, munching on bread and leaving a trail of very large gooey bread crumbs all over. She loves the butter part, too. The first thing she does with her toast is put it right against her face so the tip of her nose is dipped in butter, and she can lick it head on for the maximum butter-to-tongue ratio. She has been known to snatch the butter tub from the counter and try to eat it straight if given the chance.

Her favorite fruit is strawberries. She prefers if I cut them up, but she will gnaw on them whole as well. She loves crackers, especially Ritz. She gets excited when she sees a cracker commercial on tv. Tubes of crackers are also fun for her to tote around at her leisure. She will eat processed meats, but hot dogs and chicken nuggets are preferred. She also loves cheese and requests it often in a cute voice that sounds enough like "please" to make you want fulfill her hearts desire. Most often the kind of cheese Hailey is requesting is cottage cheese. She can spot the container from across the room and will come begging in her cutest voice. It makes a terrible mess because she can't keep her spoon upright, but she looks so happy eating it.

Ansley loves noodles. She prefers them plain, but will eat them with sauce that is not too spicy and free of tomato chunks. Caesar salad is a surprising favorite. She calls all salad greens "salad" even if there is no dressing, and will eat most of them without complaint. She enjoys bananas and oatmeal for breakfast. Ansley is also willing to eat processed meats, but is still leery of tuna (unless it is hidden in a casserole) and various steak meats. She loves mashed potatoes and macaroni still after all these years. Grapes are a new fun food; I wonder if they will last.
